Q1 Results for US Prestige Beauty

Sales down from same quarter a year ago.

In the first quarter of 2014, sales of US prestige beauty products hit $2.5 billion, a 4% decline from Q1 2013, according to The NPD Group. While still down from last year, makeup outperformed the overall industry, with $1 billion in sales in January through March 2014, a 3% decline from the first quarter of 2013.
